The vase has an ovoid body rising from a slightly tapering foot to a wide cylindrical neck，finely painted to the exterior with trees and rockwork and also a scholar standing on a boat sailing along a river. Kangxi blue and white porcelain at its best is superb and rivals any other Chinese blue and white produced during the earlier periods since the cobalt applied has a wider colour gradient for finer painting.
